2000AD Slog

The very brave Paul Rainey has been spending the last few months reading the entire run 2000AD issues from the first issue, and posting mini-reviews on his 2000AD Prog Slog. This week he has reached the 200s - the first issues where my own work started to appear - and he has some very nice things to say about my very first Dredd work, the ten-pager I drew for the 1981 Sci-Fi Special.

Yeah, I remember reading that particular episode with chasing the smuggler's truck until Law Master crashes, but that was really a long time ago! The first comic that I sort of got to know your art was Dans l'Ombre du Soleil, and it was reprinted in black-and-white - boy was that enjoyable for me to read. I really like your style that is reminiscent of Jean Giraud, and probably some other Franco-Belgian authors. Respect.

I remember that Dredd, Colin... it's the image of the lipstick trace on Dredd's helmet that sticks in my memory!

"Defacing a Judge's uniform is also an offence. Take her away!"

Ya gotta love dialogue like that....

At the moment? No, although if Dark Horse keep me waiting much longer I'll probably give the old firm a call...
